James' Music Projects

Self-taught

I explore and play music for fun, whenever the inspiration strikes. This usually involves  playing one of the many instruments laying around the house, or creating something on my computer.

I grew up listening to a lot of music and watching my dad absolutely shred it on guitar.

I have tried many digital audio workstations, but I always come back to Fruity Loops.

I use FL to make home-brew music as well and re-arrange and remix MIDI files.

FoxDot

Rave.DJ

FoxDot enables creation of live music via python programming language.

Rave.DJ

Rave.DJ takes whatever two songs you give it (with no other parameters), and outputs a new song.

It's a process of discovery.

Slightly Epic Mashups

Life is like music for its own sake. We are living in an eternal now, and when we listen to music we are not listening to the past, we are not listening to the future, we are listening to an expanded present.

Yes, that's me as a kid jumping in puddles with my dad. He wrote the midi tracks  for this first song, and I instrumented and arranged them in FL Studio

Inspired by the 28 days later sound track, I took the seagull samples out of the install directory of a  game called Neverwinter Nights, and added them to my own spooky backtrack to created a dark 'implied' narrative
